Creating Capacities

During the whole process of implementation of the project, there was a transversal component of COMMUNICATION, which included creating and/or strengthening knowledge exchange networks between the municipal governments and other actors involved at local and regional levels, contributing to the process of public awareness-raising on mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

Equally, the objective of the project was to create capacities in the municipal government staff in order for them to be able to continue with the carbon footprint and water footprint evaluations for the cities and municipal governments. To this end, the project trained the personnel that will be responsible for this evaluation in future years.

These trainings were carried out by the carbon and water footprint specialists of Servicios Ambientales S.A., with support material prepared by the same technical team.

Evaluation Manuals

These manuals describe how each of the footprint calculation tools works in a simple and easy-to-understand way, and also include a description of the information gathering and processing procedure.
